It’s the most wonderful time of the year—TV premiere time! After a long summer filled with only small moments of scripted brilliance in the middle of reality show after reality show, it’s time once again to curl up on our couches, grab a favorite TV-time snack, and fall back in love with our favorite shows—while maybe finding a few new shows to love along the way.
I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating: I love the start of any season—TV, sports, etc.—because it means hope. There’s always a chance that this year will be the year something amazing happens for your favorite shows and characters, or it could even be the year you’re pleasantly surprised by a show you never expected to love. I’m ready for all of that and more.
Without further ado, here’s what I’ll be watching this fall. This list doesn’t include reality shows (Dancing with the Stars and Top Chef being my most anticipated returns in that genre) or variety shows (like Saturday Night Live). Any pilots I’ll be checking out will be highlighted in pink, and the shows I’ll be reviewing each week will be marked with an asterisk (*).
MONDAYS
Castle (10 p.m. on ABC)*
I will be the first to admit that I was less than impressed with last season’s trope-heavy finale. However, I’m hopeful that the car wreck that ended last season in such a frustrating way will actually open up deeper avenues of storytelling for Rick Castle as a character and Nathan Fillion as an actor. No matter who was behind the crash (and we all have our theories), it’s going to make for plenty of dramatic storytelling. And with the Johanna Beckett arc wrapped up, I’m interested to see what the next big arc is going to be and what kind of material it gives this talented cast.—Season Premiere 9/29
TUESDAYS
Selfie (8 p.m. on ABC)
This is the new comedy I’m probably most looking forward to watching. (Although I still haven’t checked out the pilot, despite it being online.) The English major in me is geeking out big time over this modern interpretation of Pygmalion. I have high hopes for a comedy with such charismatic and talented leads, and I’ve loved every promo I’ve seen for this show.—Series Premiere 9/30 (Pilot available online)
New Girl (9 p.m. on FOX)
I’ve been trying to summon my optimism and believe that New Girl can rebound from a truly disappointing third season, but my expectations are very low, to be quite honest. I don’t have faith in its show-runner and her interpretation of these characters, but I can’t give up on this cast. They’re just too funny and charming to quit. And even in the middle of last season’s mess, I still found moments to genuinely enjoy. I’ll remain cautiously hopeful that a show that surprised me so wonderfully once might still have it in itself to do so again.—Season Premiere 9/16
The Mindy Project (9:30 p.m. on FOX)*
This is my most-anticipated premiere of Fall 2014 for many reasons. Last season’s finale was my favorite of all the shows I watched, and it’s been my most re-watched TV episode this summer. But what really got me excited for this upcoming season was Mindy Kaling’s enthusiasm for telling a story about a relationship, for creating a modern Lucy and Ricky in Mindy and Danny. The Mindy Project‘s storytelling, acting, and comedy all had a real sense of confidence by the end of last season, and I’m excited to see how that confidence and clarity carries over into this new season.—Season Premiere 9/16
Forever (10 p.m. on ABC)
I have to be honest: I’m basically checking out this show because of my long-standing crush on Ioan Gruffud. (Did anybody else adore him in 102 Dalmatians, or is that just me?) However, the premise of this show about an immortal medical examiner is different enough to draw me in for reasons beyond a pretty face. I like twists on procedurals, and this at least seems like a potentially compelling one.—Series Premiere 9/23
WEDNESDAYS
Red Band Society (9 p.m. on FOX)
I haven’t watched this pilot yet (although you can online), but I was captivated by the promos for this show since I saw the first one. It seems like it has the kind of emotion-driven storytelling that I’m always a sucker for. I also love Octavia Spencer’s body of work and have been a fan of Dave Annable since Brothers and Sisters, so their presence alone makes this pilot worth watching for me.—Series Premiere 9/17 (Pilot available online)
Black-ish (9:30 p.m. on ABC)
I find Anthony Anderson incredibly charming, and the very funny promos for this show have capitalized on his likability. If a new show makes me laugh every time I see a commercial for it, I feel like I need to put it on my to-watch list. The fact that the great Laurence Fishburne is also a member of this cast is just icing on the cake.—Series Premiere 9/24
Nashville (10 p.m. on ABC)
Oh Nashville, just when I start thinking you’re showing genuine growth for my favorite character (that would be Juliette Barnes for those keeping score at home), you make her backslide in a horrible way during the last few episode of Season Two. However, I still find myself waiting for Season Three because—gosh darn it—I need to know what’s going to happen with Rayna/Deacon/Luke! I blame Charles Esten (I still call him “Chip” from Whose Line Is It Anyway?) and his heartbreaking work as Deacon for making me still care about a love triangle when I usually despise them.—Season Premiere 9/24
THURSDAYS
Scandal (9 p.m. on ABC)
In typical Scandal fashion, last season’s finale ended with approximately 800 cliffhangers and unanswered questions. I’m looking forward to seeing how all of those are dealt with in the upcoming season, but let’s not kid ourselves; at this point, I’m really sticking with this show for two reasons: Olivia Pope’s clothes and Mellie Grant. With Kerry Washington free once again to wear gorgeous clothing without being hidden by purses (and lamps) and Bellamy Young coming back after a breakthrough season, I think my two reasons to watch are going to be more compelling than ever.—Season Premiere 9/25
How to Get Away with Murder (10 p.m. on ABC)
Shonda Rhimes shows always start strong. Her pilots often feature great twists that leave you with no other option than putting her shows into your TV schedule, at least for the first few seasons. Between what we know about Shonda Rhimes and what we know about the talents of Viola Davis, I have no reason to doubt that this will be a pilot everyone will be talking about. And because of Davis (much more so than because of Rhimes), I’ll sign up for whatever craziness is bound to come my way with this show.—Series Premiere 9/25
SUNDAYS
Once Upon a Time (8 p.m. on ABC)*
I am ready for everything this new season of Once Upon a Time is promising: the effects of new parenthood on Snow White and Prince Charming; Regina struggling with heartbreak while building on the character development that made last season such a joy; Emma and Hook navigating their new relationship and developing as individuals in the process; and all things Frozen. After watching that movie more than once this summer, I’ve come to the conclusion that little on TV this fall excites me more than the idea of Emma and Elsa developing a friendship—or at least a sense that they’re not alone in being born with powers they never asked for and in having a tendency towards self-imposed isolation because of how they grew up. —Season Premiere 9/28
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (8:30 p.m. on FOX)
This was the only new show from last season that I’ll be returning to this season, and it happens to be one of the shows I’m most looking forward to having back on my TV. Its first season had such a clear tone and fully-developed characters, so I can only imagine how much stronger it will get as it continues to grow into its second season. Without Parks and Recreation coming back until January, I’ll need a dose of guaranteed happiness every week, and I think this will be the show I can turn to for exactly that.—Season Premiere 9/28
The Good Wife (9 p.m. on CBS)
How do you follow up what was probably the best season of a network drama in years? That’s the question I’m excited to see answered by a show that keeps surprising me even after so many seasons. With a promo that already reveals Diane’s new role and Alicia’s answer to last season’s cliffhanger question, I know I’m not alone in wondering what big surprise is in store for us in the season premiere and in being excited for what this talented cast will do with whatever that surprise is.—Season Premiere 9/21

Nerdy Girl Notes 
Wow, I am going to need to study my TV schedules… right about now I really wish we had a DVR because things are moving around and some of the things I want to watch are going to be pitted against each other. (Yes, we are the last young people in America watching live broadcast TV. Maybe I need to price that out… can you get DVRs outside of cable boxes?).
What was Fox thinking putting B99 on Sunday night?! I didn’t actually watch last season consistently – I caught reruns – so I guess maybe this season will be the same. I’m sure Fox will play “encores” or maybe move it to a different time…
Thanks for the tips on which pilots are available online. I might check some of those out, but… than again, if Selfie is good I’ll be bummed because I can’t watch it – we have NCIS (I think) in that timeslot. I also fell in love with The Goldbergs during their hiatus reruns, but I have no idea when they’re on. If I’m lucky they’ll be on Wednesdays – we usually watch 2 hours of comedy on ABC that night (the only night we watched ABC before I fell for Once). The Middle is one of our favorites – cute and funny, although not something I would pay for, it’s enjoyable.
I have to work hubby’s favorites into our viewing schedule – for now it’s just Monday nights Fast and Loud (Gas Monkey garage on Discovery) but who knows what else he’ll latch onto!
Does NBC have ANYTHING good on this fall? What are they doing with Thursday night, I wonder…? That used to be our night for watching their channel.

FOX’s decision to move Brooklyn Nine-Nine made me so angry. It’ll be easy for me to watch it on DVR after The Good Wife during the fall/winter, but once Game of Thrones starts up again, I’ll have to push it back to Monday (or later). It’s such a nice, happy, and light show to watch live, so I’ll miss that.
You’re in luck with The Goldbergs—I just checked, and they’re still in their normal Wednesday slot! I feel like NBC has a couple of shows that seem promising. Part of me wants to watch A to Z, but I don’t like the idea of investing in a fictional relationship that I know is going to end (it’s one of the many reasons why I’ve never watched 500 Days of Summer).
I know what you mean about 500 Days of Summer. I didn’t like it the first time I watched, although the 2nd time I liked it better. Thanks for checking on the Goldbergs for me! I’m so lazy… I did finally research DVRs and to get one would greatly increase our monthly outgoings so that’s not going to happen. I’ll just buy seasons/eps of shows I love on amazon. It works out cheaper in the long run and I don’t have to keep paying for the monthly service to keep watching them (ie why we don’t have netflix either). I love TV, but I’m very suspicious of anything with a monthly fee!
My boyfriend and I have been really enjoying reruns of ‘The Middle’. Its been awhile since I found myself laughing out loud as much as I do while watching that show. I might have to add it to the DVR.
My hubby had been watching it for a while before I saw it. I didn’t get it at first – especially that Sue wasn’t there as a joke and was happy and secure in her dorkiness. Once I got used to it I found that I really liked it, despite my general dislike of Patricia Heaton. I really love Sue and Brick and Axel’s dumb friends now. And the dad. My hubby finds some good shows sometimes… 🙂
I will be watching “Castle” to see if their horrid ending of season 6, and systematic destruction of the “BECKETT” character was just a means to for some reason try to enrich the role of “Castle at her expense. That is certainly what it seems like. Should that happen, I expect the show to lose at least half of it’s audience!
Although I did have plenty of issues with last season’s Castle finale, I don’t think they really meant to “destroy” Beckett’s character—especially not at Castle’s expense. I think that with the previous wedding they thought they were being funny, but it backfired big time. I’m hopeful that they just ignore that “twist” ever happened because that’s what I plan on doing. I’m actually looking forward to Castle being given depth to match what’s been given to Beckett. And I do hope that you’ll find something in it to be hopeful about again.
I believe the episode (except the bench scene and Martha giving Kate the earrings) should be filed away with The Limey and Heartbreak Hotel.

Katie, I believe you either misunderstood what I meant or else you just have a typo! I don’t think they destroyed Becketts character at “Castle’s” expense! but for the benefit of the castle character at her expense! That they seemed to feel it necessary to drag down ‘Beckett”s character to enhance Castle’s is a bit sick! Can’t have a strong ,independant woman I guess. Completely ruined the show for a great many fans.
I’m sorry, Lynn; I misspoke (or more correctly “mis-typed”). I meant to say that I don’t think they destroyed Beckett’s character in order to make Castle look better. I still think it was just a poor attempt at humor that they didn’t think through all the way. I hope it didn’t totally ruin the show for you because I don’t think their intention was to make Beckett look dumb to make Castle look good. I think they just thought it was a funny twist that won’t amount to anything this season.
All shows have their ups and downs and one of the most challenging aspects of longevity is pivoting and reinventing to keep a show moving forward and evolving. Do I think there were missteps in the season finale? Sure.
As someone who wasn’t particularly put out by the prior marriage as a lot of the fandom was, my take on it was simply when Beckett told Castle she was more of a “one and done” kind of girl it was in the throws of their first getting to know one another. She says it during Nanny McDead which is only the second episode of the series and frankly, for me at a time when she is still cranky and less than thrilled that Castle was shadowing her. She still has a wall up regarding this cavalier man who has inserted himself into her life. Why would she reveal anything significant about her personal story to him at that point? I took that response as a way of highlighting that he and she are opposites with little in common rather than a part of who she is fundamentally. For me when we started to see behind Beckett’s wall was later in the season especially in “A Chill Goes Through Her Veins” when Beckett reveals it was her mother who was killed.
As a viewer I think there are ups and downs that the creators take characters we love through and at times we disagree with because we become invested (I particularly felt it through the back third portion of season 4). I think closing Beckett’s story line around her mother’s murder was a huge arc that for the most part they’ve handled really well and had a major focus in season 6. What I loved about how they closed this important piece of mythology was that it took us full circle from Beckett rejecting Castle’s involvement to them being fully aligned and a force to solve that mystery and take down Bracken. What I do think Castle has done a particularly strong job of this past season is solidifying Rick and Kate as a couple and one that is committed and unwavering, independent of the challenges they face. I like that after six years they’ve only built more confidence in this couple. For whatever missteps the finale had. I thought it did two things really well. It provided a vulnerable Kate. That bench scene in particular offers a Kate that is free from the burden of her mother’s murder and that defense mechanism she’s carried most of her adult life. It also solidified Castle’s strength. I think in some instances over the course of the last couple of seasons we’ve been given a healthy dose of ‘silly Castle’ and I appreciated seeing how the strength of their coupling made him the anchor in her vulnerability.
I think we have learned a ton about these characters from the past 6 years and that there is still room to learn more. We’ve seen glimpses of a ‘darker’ Castle that has been predominantly absent since getting him and Beckett together as a couple. I am looking forward to the idea of exploring that this next season if in fact that is where they are going. I am also looking forward to Kate and Rick taking on new roles within their relationship to one another, given the Bracken storyline has concluded.
This list is actually shorter than I was expecting 😛 but I suppose there are a lot of mid season shows that aren’t included.
Ive got Once Upon a Time and Park and Rec and thats pretty much it. I think I might check out Selfie online, I need more 30 min comedies in my life, and I gave up on ‘New Girl’ before the end of last season. I really want to get in on the Brooklyn 99 and ‘The Mindy Project’ but they arent available on ‘Netflix’ or ‘Amazon Prime’ as far as I know, so thats a road block.
So from my count thats 3 shows you are reviewing? Another reason why I really want to watch ‘The Mindy Project’!
As of right now, I have Parks and Rec and Agent Carter starting early in 2015, with Game of Thrones and Masters of Sex to follow, so even my mid-season schedule isn’t too crazy. Between both jobs and writing reviews, I need to keep my TV viewing schedule at least somewhat manageable if I want to have any semblance of a social life. 😉
I really wish The Mindy Project and Brooklyn Nine-Nine were on Netflix because I think you’d really enjoy both of them. And yes, I’ll be reviewing three shows this fall with a fourth (Parks and Rec) starting again in January! 🙂
I don’t know if this helps you at all, but Brooklyn 99 and The Mindy Project are both available on Hulu Plus right now! I wish they were on Netflix as I already had that but I’ve just resigned myself to paying for Hulu Plus for the amount of time it takes me to catch up on those two shows.
I might do that as well, especially since I have been watching ‘Sailor Moon Crystal’ lately anyway. I think I can justify $7.99 a month.
If you do end up deciding to do Hulu Plus let me know, if you want I am pretty sure I can get you 2 weeks free through Hulu’s friend referral program thing – that’s what one of my friends did for me when I was unsure about whether TMP & B99 were going to be worth the H+ price (mostly because I am not a huge comedy show watcher so comedies are usually the “miss” in hit or miss lol).
So of course I had to write it out and by the looks of it it is going to take me until Wednesday to get through my Sunday and Monday TV.

Madam Secretary, OUAT, Brooklyn Nine Nine and The Good Wife. Unless the first is really just awful, I suspect this top heavy Sunday will hold solid. So thank heaven for HBO GO otherwise I’d be hosed when Game of Thrones returns.
Monday:
Gotham, Sleepy Hollow, Jane the Virgin, Castle are definite. Mom and The Blacklist are fence sitters. I don’t love either but adore Allison Janney and James Spader. So they are likely to go into my three episode rule as a second chance again. But will likely be resigned to On Demand viewing.
Tuesday:
I will be picking up Mindy Project, Forever, and possibly Manhattan Love Story. But that’s it because I am going to have hold overs from Sunday/Monday that grab my attention. And I’ve all but decided I am not going to reopen SHIELD as a possibility unless I have compelling evidence that it has gone from OK to awesome.
Wednesday:
Just Black-ish, which is the show I have the highest hopes for and is probably the show I am most looking forward to in the fall slate.
Thursday:
This night almost feels like penance because it is the night of qualified shows. I will be watching Grey’s Anatomy because at this point I am in to the end. I will put How to Get Away with Murder in the rotation solely based on my love of Viola Davis, but I almost do it against my will because I don’t believe Shondra Rhimes has put out a show better than Grey’s. Gracepoint, again, it’s like driving past a car accident. I can’t not look. And as sacred as Broadchurch is for me, there is no way I am not watching it.
Friday:
Amazing Race and Shark Tank are decompression TV for me. So I am in and will likely pick up Cristela which I hope is funny, because I love seeing a Latina led television show.
Phew! That’s a lot of TV. Given there are very few true hold overs from last season I suspect a good number of these shows will go away. My only certainties are The Good Wife, OUAT, Castle and Greys.
And to think this is just before the January portion of the program kicks in. That’s when it will really get interesting.
Have I mentioned how excited I am that you’re giving The Mindy Project a shot? 😉 It’s going to make reviewing the show even more fun to know that you’ll be joining in the discussion, too.
Your feelings about SHIELD echo my own. I gave up on it midway through last season, and I just don’t think I can go back. However, I am super excited about Agent Carter, and she’ll be on the SHIELD premiere. So it’s possible I’ll be at least watching the premiere to see Hayley Atwell. We’ll see.
I’m eagerly anticipating your thought on Madam Secretary because I have a feeling I’d love it, but I just don’t know if I have time for another show (hence my inability to add Sleepy Hollow to my schedule because I simply don’t have the time). However, if I hear enough good things from people I trust, I may need to catch up during winter hiatus time because that cast is just so good.
FALL TV SEASON, COME AT ME.
Sundays: B99!
Mondays I’ll have Sleepy Hollow and Castle (I still have so much catching up to do on Castle, though. Forgive me! Also I’m recapping Sleepy Hollow, so that might push the actual Castle viewing back a bit. But it will happen.) I might check in on Gotham occasionally, but I saw the pilot this weekend and thought it was messy, so I expect I’ll give it some time to find itself.
Tuesdays: Selfie (I hear the pilot is everything you fear it could be for the first 7 minutes, and then everything you DREAM it could be after that. So I really hope people give it a chance. For Karen Gillan, especially), New Girl (I live in hope), Mindy (DANCE FOR ME Danny Castellano), and probably Forever, because it’s not like I need another TV show, but the pilot was a very pleasant surprise.
Wednesdays: Arrow (I’m still catching up, but aghhhhhh so into it)
Thursdays: Bones, obviously, and Gracepoint, because I have so many feelings on David Tennant having an American TV show, and I don’t even care that it can’t top Broadchurch (which it really can’t). I just need people to love David Tennant.
Fridays: free and clear. Which means I’ll probably use them for The X-Files, while I’m still catching up. And then once I’m caught up, I’ll probably use them for rewatching The X-Files, because I’m obsessive.
Saturdays: Doctor Who (Capaldi has been delightful thus far, even though I still have problems with Moffat’s writing), and Intruders (because I’m recapping it. But also because it’s good!)
Every day: Parks and Rec. Out of protest.
Reading all of these TV schedules is making me so happy and excited!
Castle is good binge-watching material, so I think you’ll have fun catching up. And your thoughts about the Gotham pilot make me feel better about not rushing to put it on my must-watch list. I just don’t need another new drama (says the girl who, like you, is picking up Forever just because).
Just so you know, “DANCE FOR ME Danny Castellano” made me laugh out loud in my office. 😉
And final notes: I also have Fridays free, which means catching up on Masters of Sex right now (I’m so in love with it I can’t even form proper thoughts about it this morning) and whatever I haven’t gotten to on the DVR from the previous week. And AMEN to your protest watching of Parks and Rec. Not having it in my fall schedule is like Leslie not having waffles. 😦
Ooh oh oh, I REALLY need to catch up on Masters of Sex. I hear nothing but good things! So glad you’re enjoying it.
And yeah, I thought there was a lot of potential in Gotham, and obviously Ben McKenzie is great, but it’s overstuffed with more characters than it needs, and it doesn’t have any focus yet. It’s also really cheesy. That in and of itself has never been a deal-breaker for me, but there has to be something to counter it, and there isn’t yet.
I absolutely love that people still have the motivation to delve into something as massive as ‘The X-Files’ and love it like I did as a teenager.
I just wanted to co-sign on two very important things you said.
1) Castle binge-watching. I do it often because TNT enables it. And because Castle is my happy place when the world is just being too mean.
2) People need to love David Tennant. They do and if Gracepoint assists in that happening I am OK with it being a filtered Broadchurch.
Gotham gets 3 episodes for me simply because of my love and hope for some of the leads being on my television weekly (and a part of me never got over Terriers). But I appreciate the warning about the messy premiere.
I saw the Gracepoint pilot this weekend and it was honestly pleasantly good. It doesn’t have the fire in its belly that Broadchurch does (and it lacks Olivia Colman, which is a crime. Also the score isn’t quite as fabulous), but I DIDN’T spend the whole episode thinking, “ugh, this isn’t Broadchurch,” which I count as a win! It stands on its own. And David’s accent is also completely passable, thankfully. Although if I don’t get a Tennant interview with Craig Ferguson out of this, I’m calling shenanigans.
And yes, Gotham is totally worth checking out! (Wooo, Donal Logue and Ben McKenzie.) I just think it needs a bit more structure, and the insane hype around it might have built it up unfairly. It COULD be as good as that hype eventually–it’ll just need time 🙂
I always love seeing what you’re going to watch (and review) every time fall tv season comes around! My schedule, including the new shows I’m trying out (though probably most won’t stay lol):
Mondays: Sleepy Hollow, NCIS: LA, Castle (though Castle sometimes ends up being watched on Tuesdays because I watch with my mom and she doesn’t always make it through to 11pm :p), and I’m probably going to try out Gotham. Eventually when it premieres in November I also might try out State of Affairs, but I’ve got a long time to decide on that one haha.
Tuesdays: NCIS, The Mindy Project (once I get caught up), and possibly Forever
Wednesdays: The Red Band Society, depending on how that pilot goes, and if I ever catch up on Arrow before this year’s S3 is over then I’ll probably start watching that live. Wednesdays will probably end up being my catch-up day since it’s mid-week and I don’t usually have a live show.
Thursdays: Elementary (though it isn’t back until the end of October), How To Get Away With Murder, possibly A to Z and maybe Gracepoint, because I’m unsure about watching a show where I know the relationship is going to fail and also I’m hesitant about watching Gracepoint before I’ve seen Broadchurch because I feel like I should see the (likely better quality) original show first.
Friday & Saturday are probably catch-up days and sports (aka soccer/college football) days.
Sundays: OUAT, Brooklyn 99 (once I get caught up), Madam Secretary
I’m guessing that between the 7 or 8 new shows that I might try out, probably only one or two will actually stick since I don’t tend to pick up a lot of new shows, and this year especially I will have less time in my schedule if I’m able to catch up on TMP & B99 quick enough to watch most of their seasons live (which I’m hoping I can do because I am loving them so far). Out of the trailers I watched for the new shows, I think Madam Secretary caught me most and is most likely to be one I would keep, but I’m not usually into political shows so we shall see how that goes.
Once again, I have to say how THRILLED I am that you’re enjoying both TMP and B99 because I know you’re picky with comedies. I love them both so much, and it always feels good to share that love with a friend. Plus, I can’t wait for you to stop by my TMP posts this season once you get caught up! I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot of fun discussing this season. 😉
I also want to co-sign what you said about both A to Z and Gracepoint. You know me—I love getting invested in fictional couples, and I just don’t know if I can watch a show knowing not to get too invested since the relationship isn’t going to last. Also, I definitely want to watch Broadchurch before Gracepoint, but I know both are so heavy that I have to be in the right headspace for it.
As someone who will watch Gracepoint. I can not stress enough the fact that Broadchurch is about as close as you get to 10 perfect hours of television. I wouldn’t watch Gracepoint first. Every aspect of Broadchurch from script to production value, but especially Olivia Coleman’s performance should be seen without a second set of thoughts attached to it.
Sorry, just my humble opinion. I know people who aren’t planning on watching the original but are going to watch Gracepoint. But if the goal is to watch Broadchurch I can’t imagine not experiencing it without any knowledge or images stuck in my head.

I am so excited that TV starts to come back next week. My schedule is slightly terrifying but hopefully I won’t like all of the new shows and it’ll settle down a bit.
Sundays: One of my crazy days that will only get worse in 2015. I have Bob’s Burgers, OUAT, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Good Wife returning. I’m hoping that at least for the fall, I can watch the two dramas that night and the comedies if I end up having time. I’m trying out Madam Secretary, The Affair and Mulaney, though I don’t know that I’ll keep Mulaney from early reviews.
Mondays: I have Castle and Sleepy Hollow (and TBBT for a month) as my returning shows with the plan to try out Gotham and State of Affairs when it eventually airs.
Tuesdays: New Girl, The Mindy Project, and Chicago Fire returning (with the last two being my priorities of the night) and trying out Selfie and Marry Me.
Wednesday: Just Nashville returning and trying out Red Band Society and Black-ish
Thursday: My other crazy day. I have TBBT (after October), Bones, and Parenthood that I’ll wait to watch with Nikki on Sundays plus Scandal and Elementary all returning then I’m trying out Gracepoint, The McCarthys, A to Z, and How to Get Away with Murder
Fridays: Trying out Cristela and Constantine. I expect I’ll keep Cristela but possibly not Constantine.
I’m not sure that this will be at all manageable, especially with the older shows I’m trying to watch but at least a few of these can be easily multi-tasked which should help.
I love reading your schedule because it makes me feel less intimidated by my own. 😉
I’m so excited for some shows to start this week (especially The Mindy Project because that starts my fall TV Time posts!), and I think the thing that has me most excited is knowing that I’ll be able to talk about so many of them with you. I don’t know what I’d do without having you to share my Juliette feelings with after Nashville, my Mellie feelings after Scandal, my Danny Castellano feelings whenever they strike, and my Emma feelings basically every day.
